IELTS: My Recommended Materials and by British Council

If you have followed my previous posts, I have given you tips on how to write and pass your IELTS exam on your own with little or no external tuition. I provide here, materials I recommend as well as those by the British Council for successfully passing the examination.

The materials include Apps as well as Literature.

IELTS Recommended Apps

2. Word Power

The Word Power app was specially designed as an aid for test-takers to improve the range, as well as the complexity, of their vocabulary. We know that the most effective learning takes place when you are enjoying yourself, so we have developed a series of interesting and exciting vocabulary-building games that will ensure that you learn and have fun at the same time! You can even challenge your friends and see who has the best vocabulary! Download the iOS version from here

Aside these two apps recommended  by the British Council,  I find the following apps very useful:

3. IELTS Reading by Millinix

I highly recommended this app to anyone who has challenges with the IELTS Test especially the Reading component. The IELTS Reading App has over 50 IELTS standard reading tests which simulate the real examination in time and question number.
The interesting part is that, after every exam, you get to see your score, get a review of the right answers and the rationale and also get you a feel of the questions.

The only down side to the app is that, there is no iOS version and there are a number of ads in the app but still the best Reading App on the market.

4. IELTS Evaluated Essays with Feedback

IELTS Writing remains one of the most difficult and toughest components of the entire examination and the IELTS Evaluated Essays provides test takers the ability to review and practise essays which have been graded to guide them and provide them with a fair idea on how to answer essay questions.

IELTS Essays is for those who are aiming 7+ Band in their Writing Module as well as who need Collection of Evaluated/Checked Essays with Feedback so that you can improve IELTS Writing Module.
